-The Ice out Penguin recorded the official ice out over night on the 20th of Feb. A surprisingly early ice out this year. Thanks to everyone who took part, a donation was made to the pond in the amount of 460 dollars leaving 300 for the lucky winner to be announced soon.

Update: The winner is Mark Cancelli for the second year in a row! He generously donated 100 of his winnings back to the pond, thanks Mark!

-Second de-weeding for eel grass is Aug 2nd, no boating until the 3rd!

-The 4th Annual Carl Schmitt and Kevin Smith Memorial Fishing Derby is Sunday May 21st! Enter to fish for a chance to will 300 bucks for the biggest bass of the morning. Derby will be 6AM – Noon. No live bait allowed. Contact Lee for more info at 508-757-1590.

-Great Pond Meeting on the 25th, lots of energy and new ideas. We all voted to go forward with the double deweeding this year and begin to knock down the eel grass. One deweeding will happen in the spring and a second around August. We will be trying a business focused fundraising effort also. Some new ideas for community fundraisers were brought up.

-The Ice out Penguin recorded the official ice out early morning on the 24th. The block underneath the penguin went through and triggered the clock. The winner is Mark Cancelli. Mark gave back $100 of his $200 prize to help with the pond deweeding efforts!

-The Dorothy Pond Ice out Penguin is out on the ice and awaiting the official Ice Out! $300 to the closest guess. It may be a short lived ice out this year, each year will be different.

-2017 DPWA Meeting is Feb 25th at 1PM at the Asa Waters Mansion. Please be sure to mail in your 75.00 dues or bring it to the meeting. Thanks again for the continued support. This is a big year and we will be doing 2 separate deweedings to treat the new eel grass problem. See you at the meeting.

Please remember that it’s your contributions that help keep our pond clean and deweeded. Without your continued support our beautiful, fully recreational pond will become crowded with nuisance weeds and overgrowth.

Every little bit helps, please contribute when you can. Checks can be made out to Dorothy Pond Watershed Association and mailed to 7 Warren St Millbury.

Thank you and we will see you on the water!
